Risk and Governance Analyst - Hybrid - Reading

We are looking for a Risk and Governance Analyst to join our operations department.
What does a Risk and Governance Analyst do?
The Risk and Governance Analyst will strengthen the 1st Line of Defence by embedding effective risk management and governance practices. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the role coordinates 1st line teams to ensure that risks are identified, assessed, and managed at source and that governance frameworks operate efficiently and effectively.
Your responsibilities include but will not be limited to:
- Support Guardian senior management to maintain strong governance frameworks.
- Work with 1st and 2nd line teams to produce accurate and timely risk registers and dashboards.
- Support the implementation of Consumer Duty requirements within the 1st Line, including monitoring and reporting on customer outcomes.
- Work with operational teams to identify risks impacting vulnerable customers and to develop mitigations.
- Assist in identifying important business services and mapping dependencies within the 1st Line.
- Fulfilling the role of Business Continuity Manager by owning and maintaining an effective incidence management framework.
- Act as a liaison for compliance reviews and audits, ensuring timely provision of information, and that open compliance and audit actions are tracked and managed to completion.
- Coordinate the submission of any required regulatory reporting.
Who are we looking for?
- Understanding of FCA regulatory frameworks, especially governance, conduct risk, and operational resilience.
- Experience of risk management or governance roles within financial services, ideally life insurance.
- Excellent analytical and reporting skills
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work across multiple teams.
- Resilience & Adaptability
- Experience in producing clear reports and engages confidently with senior stakeholders.
